My boyfriend turns 22 tomorrow, and I drew a quickish sketch for him which I coloured traditionally. Unfortunately I think both my unadequate skills and the crappy watercolour pencils I have (Crayola) messed it up. :( I then used some cheap watercolour paints I got for free from a cookie shop (random indeed :?) which managed a better job on the second character. But still, I want to be able to paint 'real' watercolours. Proper paper probably helps too.. I needed to colour this in on my sketchbook paper as I could scan it in and print off a copy since I have no ink in my printer.

Need: better watercolour pencils and/or watercolour paint, to use my smaller brushes, watercolour pad/paper/sketchbook and finally more patience. Plus to read more tutorials and 'play' around more to learn the technique better. Help?
